Seating Arrangements or Not?

March 2, 2012 by twittersph

While your wedding guests approach your reception, the conversation lingering sounds like this, “Mary, I wonder who I am seated with?” “I hope were not sitting together, I haven’t talked to her in years!” There is always some frustration between the bride and groom as you sit in the living room placing wedding guests in a suitable location.  I understand the stress of guessing where to place who could turn into a nightmare. There is no need to get all worked up about who Aunt Margie sits with. Let’s make Aunt Margie choose her seat. Actually, let all the guests choose their seats. When sending out your save the date notifications, how about sending your guests a preference sheet? This is one option.

Another option could be a sweetheart table! A sweetheart table is when the bride and the groom sit separately from the rest of the guests. There is always the option of a bridal party table. The bride, the groom, and the bridal party will be seated at the front table of the wedding reception. These are just some things to think about when creating seating arrangements. Sometimes having arranged seating is the way to go. Feel free to print out the seating chart worksheet have a pencil and an eraser on hand as this will be a process. Also, review our seating chart article to help you with creative ideas.
